Barnstable Hosts State Power Central in Saturday Night Matchup

HYANNIS, Mass. — It’s Saturday night lights on Cape Cod as the Barnstable Red Hawks open their 2025 season with a tough non-conference matchup against perennial powerhouse Springfield Central. Kickoff is set for 7 p.m. at Barnstable High School.

Central, one of Massachusetts’ top-ranked programs, enters the season at No. 4 in the state and No. 2 in its division. The Golden Eagles are coming off another strong campaign and will look to begin their title push with a statement performance on the road.

Barnstable, ranked No. 43 in Massachusetts and No. 7 in its division, faces a major early-season test. With a passionate home crowd behind them, the Red Hawks aim to showcase their growth and measure themselves against one of the state’s most talented rosters.

The two teams share a common opponent later this fall in Minnechaug Regional, giving fans a chance to compare results as the season unfolds.
