PORTLAND, OR – The Roosevelt High School varsity football team is set to kick off the 2025-26 season with a home non-conference matchup against Sherwood High School this Friday, September 5, at 7:00 p.m. at Roosevelt’s stadium.
Both teams enter the contest with fresh records, as the season has yet to begin. Sherwood enters the matchup with a national ranking of 1,530, seventh in Oregon, and sixth in their class. Roosevelt, meanwhile, is ranked 9,725 nationally, 82nd in Oregon, and 31st in their class.
With neither team having played a game yet, all eyes will be on how they adjust to the new season. Both squads also share a common opponent in Tigard, although those games have not yet been played.
