South Set to Host Westborough in Season Opener

WORCESTER, Mass. — The high school football season begins this afternoon as South High welcomes Westborough for a non-conference matchup. Kickoff is scheduled for Saturday, August 23, 2025, at 4 p.m. on South’s home field.

Both teams enter the contest with fresh records, eager to set the tone for the 2025–26 campaign. Westborough opens the season ranked No. 132 in Massachusetts and No. 17 in its division, while South comes in at No. 102 statewide and No. 20 in its division.

Though today marks the first meeting between the Colonials and the Colonels this fall, both teams share several common opponents later in the season, including Hudson, Marlborough, Tantasqua Regional, and Doherty Memorial.
